Stimwave: Treating an “Untreatable” CRPS and Chronic Shoulder Pain

Jun 28, 2019 | Blog, Pain Management

Fantastic display of determination to help a patient that was always thought to be untreatable CRPS (Complex Regional Pain Syndrome) and chronic shoulder pain. One of Comprehensive Spine & Pain Physicians patients, a 60-year-old female diagnosed with CRPS in 1990,  who is also a chronic cardiac pacing dependent.  Historically, patients with pacemakers and spinal deformity were unable to take advantage of neuromodulation. Dr. Raymond Tatevossian performed a peripheral nerve stimulator trial to arrest the CRPS symptoms, as well as the mechanical shoulder pain with the Stimwave wireless Freedom neurostimulator. The pacemaker representative was in the room and confirmed no interference with her pacing system.

The patient had fantastic results!

The Patient has seen trophic changes in her arm and hand with reduced pain and allodynia.
